A movement to promote entrepreneurship in high school and train next generation entrepreneurs

The YTBC is a non-profit competition run by students for students. He opened registrations in January 2021 and was free to all eligible students in Grades 9 to 12. The YTBC team reached 1.4 million students and over 2,400 schools in over 80 countries, supported by networks of Learn with Leaders, Harvard Student Agencies, OP Jindal Global University, Bennett University, Shiv Nadar University, Westcliff University, Wadhwani Foundation, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and TiE Silicon Valley, among others.

More than 20,000 students have expressed an interest in participating in the competition. The first round, conducted in June 2021, led the Top 500 teams to be shortlisted. The selected teams then went through three more rounds, with the top 28 teams participating in the Grand Final held on July 31 and August 1, 2021.

“The idea for YTBC arose from my personal experience and the lack of such opportunities for high school students. As a high school student, I was keen to develop my entrepreneurial spirit and apply it through a platform or a competition. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the right medium. Therefore, when I thought of YTBC, our team immediately jumped into action, and that’s how the competition began, ”said Naman Tekriwal, Launch Director, YTBC.

YTBC has promoted the pitch-learn-pitch format, making it the first competition of its kind. Attendees received help through boot camps, workshops, webinars, etc. They have acquired a learning curve at every turn by incorporating the lessons learned into their plans and developing new tactics.

“We introduced YTBC to cultivate entrepreneurship among students and provide them with a platform where they could show their talent and polish their mind by learning from the experts. In addition, we offered them their own type experience. Shark Tank as they presented their business plans each round of the competition to our judges.We are happy to have teamed up with like-minded institutes and judges eager to develop leaders of the next generation ”, declared Gunjan agarwal, Co-founder, Learn with leaders.

The Dissolv team, from the United States, became the very first YTBC champion, winning US $ 4,000 as well as mentoring and virtual incubation in partner incubators. The PL-WAN team and Dycon came in second and second respectively. Other category awards including Best Innovation Award, Best Presentation Award, Best Social Impact and Best Girls’ Team Award were also presented.

YTBC 2021 energized young minds around the world and gave them a stage to bring their business ideas to life. Preparations for YTBC 2022 have already started and he promises to go even further to inspire next-generation entrepreneurs.
