BSP leader Mayawati to launch election campaign in Punjab on February 8

Bahujan Samaj party leader Mayawati will launch her campaign on February 8 for the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for next month.

The BSP leader will address a rally in Nawanshahr, the party’s Punjab chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said on Friday.

Garhi said the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BSP alliance will form the next government in Punjab with a clear majority.

“The BSP-SAD alliance would liberate Punjab from the mismanagement of the Congress party with a victory in the 2022 parliamentary elections,” he said.

Notably, earlier this month, BSP General Secretary SC Misra said that Mayawati would not contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for next month and would help candidates win the elections in the states.

Five states, including Punjab, are expected to go to the Assembly polls next month.

Elections in Punjab will take place on February 20 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
