Capital Square Appoints CFO – Virginia Business


Donna Sperounis joins a real estate investment company

Capital Square, a Henrico-based real estate investment firm, has appointed Donna Sperounis as chief financial officer, the company announced on Wednesday.

Sperounis has 22 years of experience in real estate and joins Capital Square from Dakota Partners, where she was chief financial officer and chief operating officer. While there, she increased cash flow by 50%, maximized tax incentives and improved capital reinvestment by 35% through the creation of a new business plan, according to a press release.

“Capital Square is growing rapidly, with record fundraising, record hiring, record number and size of investment programs, and most importantly, record returns for investors,” said Louis Rogers, Founder and CEO. of Capital Square. “To reach Capital Square’s full potential, we need an exceptional leader to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer.”

Sperounis has also served as controller for Alliance Realty Capital, chief accounting officer for Plymouth Industrial REIT Inc., and senior vice president of operations and finance at Franklin Street Properties.

Sperounis graduated from the University of Ashford with a Bachelor of Commerce and a minor in Accounting.

Capital Square specializes in tax-efficient real estate investments, including Delaware Statutory Trusts. Since its inception in 2012, the firm has structured over $5 billion in investment deals.
