The acquisition of Promain follows a takeover of Bromborough Paints in March 2021 by Cairngorm Capital Partners. Bromborough Paints and its Trade 1 e-commerce armst were later renamed Paintwell.

Over the past 18 months Paintwell has opened stores to expand beyond its Cheshire heartland across the North West, Midlands and Yorkshire. Its 25e store opened in Droitwich last month.

The acquisition of Promain expands PaintWell’s growth strategy and forms the basis of PaintWell’s new industrial paints division.
