Core Specialty Appoints President of New Equine Division


Core Specialty Insurance Holdings announced the appointment of Kevin Eagen who joins the company as president of its new equine division.

The equine division represents the 11th specialized business unit of Core Specialty.

In a press release, he says Equine Division offers a variety of products including equine mortality, loss of use and first season stallion coverage.

The newly created division is comprised of uniquely qualified underwriters and claims professionals who represent over 100 years of combined experience in the equine industry.

Eagen joins Core Specialty after serving as Vice President Equine/Bloodstock at HDI Global, as well as Sr. Production Underwriter at Great American Insurance.

Prior to that, Eagen served as Agency Manager and Producer at Independent Equine Agents, as well as Senior Director of Territory Sales at Vivus, Inc.

Additionally, Eagen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business, which he received from Walsh College.

Meanwhile, in March, Core Specialty hired Scott Snyder, as president of Fronted programs, as the carrier launched its Fronting division.
