Month-Long Cash for Classrooms Campaign Kicks Off in Casey Communities


In-store giving campaign will raise funds for K-12 schools in 16 states in which Casey’s operates

ANKENY, Iowa, August 3, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today, Casey’s is launching a donation campaign to help fund grants for local schools in its 16 states. Throughout August, Casey’s asks customers to round up their purchases at checkout to help fund its annual Cash for Classrooms grant program, which provides funds for projects and initiatives that will benefit public schools and non-profit K-12 programs in communities served by Casey’s. .

“Schools are at the heart of each of our communities, and we are excited to continue supporting students and teachers through our Cash for Classrooms grant program,” said Megan Elfers, President of Casey’s Charities. “Casey’s proudly serves the communities we find ourselves in and Cash for Classrooms is a way to show our support for our students, teachers and schools who could use a boost now more than ever.”

In 2022, Casey’s Grants Program awarded $1 million to benefit schools through 89 grants. Funding priorities included a variety of projects focused on physical improvements, material needs, teacher support, and community engagement initiatives. This year, some of Casey’s giving highlights include:

  • Bonnie Grimes Elementary in Arkansas received $50,000 grant for new inclusive playground

  • The Columbus School District in Nebraska received $20,000 for a new Education and Technology Center to host student assemblies, staff professional development and other activities for their growing population

  • The Sigourney Community School District in Iowa received a $10,000 grant to purchase 10 new microscopes to improve the science curriculum

Every dollar raised from guests and the roundup campaign will go towards the Cash for Classrooms grant program, which opens its application process from October 1 to November 30, 2022. Grant applications can range from $3,000 to $50,000. Grants will be awarded in March 2023.
