Naperville helps you! campaign returns to brighten up community spirit

The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Naperville Alliance have joined together again to reopen the Naperville Helps! Countryside. While active in 2020 and 2021, this GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $100,000 and helped more than 30 local restaurants serve more than 6,000 meals to local first responders, organizers said.

“We are honored to help support the incredible healthcare workers at Edward Hospital as they work hard to help keep our community healthy,” said Danielle Tufano, CEO of the Downtown Naperville Alliance. “Whether you give a few dollars or a few hundred dollars, this money has a double impact because it helps support our restaurants downtown and allows us to provide meals to local health care workers.”

Kaylin Risvold, President and CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, said she, too, is excited to reopen the Naperville Helps! countryside.

In March 2020, Naperville Helps! was launched to support local restaurants to also express their appreciation to the health care providers at Edward Hospital. During the lunch hour on launch day, Edward Hospital President and CEO Joe Dant and NACC President and CEO Kaylin Risvold were on hand to accept lunches from a restaurant in the downtown Naperville. “These donations are a small way to continue supporting our business community and to say thank you to those who work tirelessly at Edward Hospital,” added Risvold. “It’s great that we can bring businesses together with our wider community to not just say ‘thank you,’ but to spread a smile through a delicious complimentary snack.”

“Speaking with representatives from the hospital,” Tufano continued, “they agree that a project like this couldn’t have come at a better time and they greatly appreciate all the support from the community.”

Help from Naperville! The fund will be managed by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Naperville Alliance teams in conjunction with Naperville area restaurants and treats.

Members of DNA and the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce expressed their appreciation for any continued support, knowing that Naperville helps you! is another way for the community to tackle challenges together.
