IRVING, TEXAS – Captain Emilie roberts (Severn, Md.) Of the Old Dominion women’s soccer team was named to Conference USA’s All-Academic First team, while her teammate Megan Watts (Stafford, Va.) Has been named to Conference USA’s second All-Academic team, league officials said on Friday.
Senior, Roberts has started all 15 ODU games this season, playing 1375 minutes this season. Roberts was a defensive asset helping ODU allow just one goal in conference games with seven shutouts. Roberts recorded one goal, two assists and seven shots during the year. The native of Maryland currently has a GPA of 3.77 as she majored in physical education with a minor in psychology. Roberts won Conference USA’s second All-Academic Team in the 2020 season and has previously been named to the Conference USA Honor Roll.
A junior, Watts has started 14 of 15 games for ODU this season. Watts has recorded an assist, four goals and 37 shots this season. The Virginia forward currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.80 and is majoring in management. Watts has previously won the United States Conference Commissioner’s Medal and has been named to the United States Conference Honor Roll for her academic achievement.
The Monarchs turn their attention to the 2021 United States Conference Women’s Football Championship in Boca Raton, Florida. ODU will play in the quarterfinals on November 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET. against UTSA or UNT.
