A Rochdale-based recruitment agency has joined a community back-to-school appeal to support children at a local school as they head into summer and lose access to their free school meals.

Recruitment Solutions NW donated back-to-school kits – containing learning essentials, food items and a Nando voucher – to Whittaker Moss Elementary School, which will be distributed to children in the school who have the most need.

The back-to-school appeal, launched by Manchester-based financial services company Sedulo, is aimed at families living in poverty across the UK whose children are preparing for a summer without access to free school meals and essential learning.

The appeal which aims to support 1,000 children across the North and London is managed with the Michael Carrick Foundation and works closely with schools, charities and carers.

Recruitment Solutions NW Director Gavin Reynolds said, “We’ve had a great working relationship with Sedulo for over 10 years, so as soon as we heard about the opportunity to support their back-to-school appeal, we got together. immediately registered.

“We are proud to have been based in Rochdale for over 15 years and have seen firsthand the regeneration of the area over the past few years. We’ve also seen areas of Rochdale still awaiting regeneration investment, and with issues like the rising cost of living, you’ll find that families really need the support of calls like this.

“Whittaker Moss School is part of the Rochdale community that our team members care about, and we know some of their children could use a helping hand. Being able to link the call to a school in the Rochdale area is something we are very proud of.
