The Order announces the members of the search committee for the positions of dean

Ithaca College has announced the members of the search committees for the three open dean positions.

The committees will be assisted by partners from the research firm WittKieffer, Acting Marshal Melanie Stein, said in a campus-wide email Nov. 11. The college has in partnership with the cabinet for dean research in the past.

There are currently four interim deans out of the college’s five schools: Jack Powers at the Roy H. Park School of Communications, Alka Bramhandkar at the School of Business, Ivy Walz at the School of Music, and Claire Gleitman, who is the interim. dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences while Stein is interim rector. However, there will only be three searches. Stein is the dean of the Faculty of Humanities, but assumed the post of interim rector after La Jerne Cornish was appointed interim president for the 2021-2022 academic year.

As of October 5 State of the College meeting, Stein said the search committee chairs have all been appointed. Jack Bryant, associate professor and program director in the Department of Arts, Science and Media Studies, will chair the Dean’s Research of the School of Communications; Christine Bataille, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Management, will chair the Dean’s Research of the School of Business; and Chrystyna Dail, Associate Professor in the Department of Theater Arts, and James Mick, Associate Professor in the Department of Music Education, co-chair the Dean’s research on the new combination of music and the performing arts.

The School of Business Dean’s Research Committee will include: Bataille, Wonyul Bae, associate professor in the Department of Sports Management; Marie Blouin, professor in the Department of Accounting and Business Law; Fatima Hajjat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing; Xinxin Li, assistant professor in the Department of Finance and International Trade; David Brown, professor in the Department of Mathematics; Dennis Charsky, associate professor in the Department of Strategic Communication; Sean Linfors, assistant professor in the Department of Music Education; Katy Hall, Academic Services Coordinator for the School of Business; Paul Hesler, director of Pmain gif, Philanthropy and Ecommitment; Austin Ruffino junior, majoring in business administration; and Christina Moylan, vice-president, graduate and professional studies.

The Dean’s Research Committee of the School of Communications will include:, Steve Gordon, associate professor in the Department of Arts, Science and Media Studies; Mehreen Khalid, Assistant Professor in the Department of Arts, Science and Media Studies: Mead Loop, professor in the Department of Journalism; Yvette Sterbenk, Assistant Professor in the Department of Strategic Communication; Scott Erickson, professor in the Department of Marketing; Doug Turnbull, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science; Nigel Martin, director of technical operations at the Park School of Communications; Megan Panek, Associate Vice President, Philanthropy and Engagement; junior Alison True, major in film and photography; and Brad Hougham, vice-president, faculty affairs.

Bryant said he was eager to work with the search committee.

“I can’t speak to committees from other schools, but I think Park Dean Search has a strong committee and I look forward to working with them,” said Bryant.

The School of Music and Theater Dean’s Search Committee will include: Dail, Mick, Les Black, associate professor in the Department of Music Theory, History and Composition; Mike Caporizzo, assistant professor in the Department of Musical Interpretation; David Earll, assistant professor in the Department of Musical Interpretation; Cynthia Henderson, professor in the Department of Theater Arts; Kathleen Mulligan, professor in the Department of Theater Arts; Ian Woods, associate professor in the Department of Biology; Becky Jordan, musical ensemble and Kinyon Music Collection manager for the School of Music; Mary Scheidegger, Theater Operations Coordinator for the Department of Theater Arts; Quincy Davidson, Associate Vice-President, Philanthropy and Engagement; junior Daniel Hewson, major theater production and design; freshman Vincent Tavernese, a major musical and trumpet education; and Jeane Copenhaver-Johnson, vice-president, academic programs.
